KAPOSH comes from an Italian call-and-response phrase: Capeesh is slang for “Understand?”
Kaposh is an affirmative: “Understood.”
We don’t just help your organization grow, we work to understand the specific needs so you can scale with energy, efficiency, and excellence.
I’m Robert Earl Jones, II — founder of KAPOSH. With over 20 years of experience in the education, nonprofit, and financial services industries, I know firsthand what it takes to scale and sustain a business from the ground up. After earning my BBA in Marketing from the University of Memphis, I started working in financial services as a teller. I quickly moved up in the industry, eventually becoming a Vice President at a leading financial institution in 2011. There, I co-developed a growth strategy for member sales and service activities – but I also felt a growing desire to serve more communities that needed my heart and hands more than the financial industry.
Moving into education was a pivot in my career, but it is a pivot I don’t regret. In 2017, I became Director of Operations at the largest US Charter school network, the country’s largest network of charter schools, which served over 80,000 students in over 200 schools. I oversaw all facets of operations, including developing an operational vision; communications; purchasing; managing Title I grants; compliance; emergency management; budget; facilities issues; and capital improvement projects. In 2021, I brought this expertise to one of the top-performing charter school networks in the Greater Memphis Area, serving first as Managing Director of Operations and then as Chief Operations Officer until 2022.
